How to Use CCXML with Google Drive

How to Use CCXML with Google Drive

CCXML, or Call Control eXtensible Markup Language, is a standard for controlling voice calls over the internet. CCXML allows you to create interactive voice applications that can handle incoming and outgoing calls, transfer calls, play audio, record messages, and more.

One of the benefits of CCXML is that it can be hosted on any web server and accessed by any phone system that supports VoiceXML. This means that you can use CCXML to create voice applications without having to install any software or hardware on your premises.

But how do you store and manage your CCXML files? One option is to use Google Drive, a cloud-based service that lets you store and share files online. Google Drive offers many features that can help you work with CCXML files, such as:

  • Easy uploading and downloading of files
  • Version control and revision history
  • Collaboration and sharing with other users
  • Integration with other Google services, such as Gmail and Google Docs
  • Security and encryption of data

In this article, we will show you how to use CCXML with Google Drive in a few simple steps.

Step 1: Create a Google Account

If you don’t have a Google account already, you will need to create one to use Google Drive. You can sign up for a free account at https://accounts.google.com/signup. You will need to provide some basic information, such as your name, email address, and password.

Step 2: Access Google Drive

Step 1: Create a Google Account

Once you have a Google account, you can access Google Drive by going to https://drive.google.com. You will see a dashboard where you can view and manage your files. You can also create new folders and files by clicking on the “New” button on the top left corner.

Step 3: Upload Your CCXML Files

Step 2: Access Google Drive

To upload your CCXML files to Google Drive, you can either drag and drop them from your computer to the dashboard, or click on the “New” button and select “File upload”. You can upload multiple files at once, and they will appear in your “My Drive” folder by default. You can also create subfolders to organize your files better.

Step 4: Share Your CCXML Files

If you want to share your CCXML files with other users, you can do so by right-clicking on the file and selecting “Share”. You can then enter the email addresses of the users you want to share with, and choose whether they can view or edit the file. You can also generate a link that anyone can use to access the file.

Step 5: Access Your CCXML Files from Any Phone System

Step 4: Share Your CCXML Files

To access your CCXML files from any phone system that supports VoiceXML, you will need to use the URL of the file as the source of the CCXML document. The URL of the file can be found by right-clicking on the file and selecting “Get link”. You will see a link that looks something like this:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1aBcD2eF3gH4iJ5kL6mN7oP8qR9sT0u/view?usp=sharing

You will need to modify this link slightly to make it work with CCXML. First, you will need to replace the “/file/d/” part with “/uc?id=”. Second, you will need to add “&export=download” at the end of the link. The modified link should look something like this:

https://drive.google.com/uc?id=1aBcD2eF3gH4iJ5kL6mN7oP8qR9sT0u&export=download

This link will download the CCXML file when accessed by a browser or a phone system. You can then use this link as the source of the CCXML document in your VoiceXML application. For example:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><
