How to Use Common Key Bin Loadstructor to Create Wii Game Channels

If you want to play Wii games from a USB device without using a homebrew launcher, you can use Common Key Bin Loadstructor to create game channels that boot directly from the Wii menu. This tutorial will show you how to use this tool and what you need to prepare.
Requirements
- A Wii console with a preloader or Bootmii installed. This is important to prevent bricking your Wii.
- A common-key.bin file. This is a file that contains the encryption key for Wii games. You can search for it on Google or use the makekeybin.exe program that comes with Wiiscrubber[^1^].
- A USB device with a WBFS partition. This is where you will store your Wii games. You can use WBFS Manager or any USB loader to format and manage your games on the device.
- A WAD manager and the Homebrew Channel. You will need these to install the game channels on your Wii. You can download them from their respective websites.
- A cIOS installed. This is a custom IOS that allows you to run games from USB devices. You can use cIOSes 222/223/249 with cLoader, which is the recommended loader for Loadstructor.
Instructions
- Install your games on your USB device using WBFS Manager or any USB loader.
- Run Loadstructor on your computer and place the common-key.bin file in the same folder as the program.
- Click “add ISO(s)” and select the ISO files of your installed games or click “add from WBFS” to read them directly from your USB device.
- Select cLoader as the loader and check your settings. You can change the video mode, language, cheats, anti-002 fix, and alternate .DOL loading options for each game.
- You can test the loader via WiFi before installation by clicking “test”. This will send the channel to your Wii and run it temporarily.
- Select an output folder where you want to save the WAD files for your game channels.
- Click “RUN”. This will create the WAD files in your output folder.
- Copy the WAD files to your SD card and insert it into your Wii.
- Run the WAD manager from the Homebrew Channel and install the game channels on your Wii.
- Done. You can now use the shortcut channels from the Wii menu to play your games from USB device.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter any problems with Loadstructor or cLoader, you can try the following steps:
- Turn on verbose mode for diagnostics. This will show you more information about what is happening when you run the loader or create the channels.
- Make sure you have the latest version of Loadstructor and cLoader. You can download them from Cluster’s website[^2^].
- Make sure you have a compatible cIOS installed. You can use cIOSes 222/223/249 with cLoader.
- Make sure your USB device is formatted correctly and has enough space for your games. You can use WBFS Manager or any USB loader to check and manage your device.
- Make sure your common-key.bin file is valid and placed in the same folder as Loadstructor.
