Ichiki Miho was born on March 13, 1995 in Tokyo, Japan. She grew up in a family of actors, as her father is Ichiki Masahiro, a veteran stage and screen actor, and her mother is Ichiki Mika, a former idol singer and actress. She has a younger brother, Ichiki Ryota, who is also an actor.

Ichiki Miho showed an interest in acting from a young age, and joined the Himawari Theatre Group when she was six years old. She attended the prestigious Horikoshi High School, where she was classmates with other famous actors such as Kamiki Ryunosuke, Shida Mirai, and Suda Masaki. She graduated from the school in 2013.

Early Life and Education

Ichiki Miho made her film debut in 2008, when she appeared in The Chasing World, a sci-fi thriller directed by Sato Issei. She then landed a supporting role in Love Exposure, a cult classic directed by Sono Sion, where she played the younger sister of the protagonist. The film won multiple awards at international film festivals, and brought Ichiki Miho to the attention of critics and audiences alike.

In 2010, she starred in Confessions, a dark and disturbing drama directed by Nakashima Tetsuya. She played the role of Takahashi Naoki, one of the students who is involved in the murder of their teacher’s daughter. The film was a critical and commercial success, and was selected as Japan’s entry for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

In 2012, she appeared in The Kirishima Thing, a high school drama directed by Yoshida Daihachi. She played the role of Kasumi, a popular girl who is dating the titular Kirishima, a star athlete who mysteriously disappears one day. The film won the Japan Academy Prize for Picture of the Year, and Ichiki Miho received the Japan Academy Prize for Newcomer of the Year.
