From Teacher to Writer
Linda J was born in Texas, where she grew up reading books and dreaming of becoming a writer. She studied education and worked as a teacher for several years before she decided to pursue her passion for writing. She wrote her first novel, A Tender Heart, in 1983 and submitted it to a publisher. To her surprise, it was accepted and published the following year.
“I was overjoyed when I got the acceptance letter,” Linda J recalls. “I couldn’t believe that someone liked my story enough to publish it. It was a dream come true.”
Since then, Linda J has written dozens of novels in various genres, including historical romance, contemporary romance, suspense, and fantasy. She has also written under different pen names, such as Laura Jordan, Lisa Jackson, and Lynn James. She says that she enjoys exploring different settings, characters, and themes in her books.
“I love writing romance because it’s about emotions, relationships, and hope,” she says. “I also like to challenge myself and try new things. That’s why I write in different genres and use different names. It keeps me fresh and excited.”
Her Creative Process
Linda J says that she writes every day, usually in the morning when she feels most energized. She works from her home office, where she has a desk, a computer, and a bookshelf full of books. She says that she doesn’t have a fixed routine or a strict outline when she writes. Instead, she lets her imagination guide her.
“I start with an idea or a premise that intrigues me,” she explains. “Then I create the main characters and their goals and conflicts. I don’t plan everything in advance. I let the story unfold as I write. Sometimes I’m surprised by what happens.”
Linda J says that she revises her drafts several times before sending them to her editor. She also gets feedback from her friends and family, who are avid readers of her books. She says that she values their opinions and suggestions.
“I’m always open to constructive criticism,” she says. “It helps me improve my writing and make my stories better.”
Her Upcoming Projects
Linda J says that she has many ideas for future books and that she is always working on something new. She reveals that she is currently writing a sequel to her bestselling novel The Secret Bride, which was released last year. The sequel will follow the story of the heroine’s sister, who falls in love with a mysterious stranger.
“It’s a romantic suspense with a twist,” Linda J teases. “I think my readers will love it.”
Linda J also says that she is planning to write a fantasy series set in a magical world. She says that she has always been fascinated by fantasy and that she wants to create her own mythology and lore.
“It’s something I’ve always wanted to do,” she says. “It’s a big challenge, but also a lot of fun.”

“Writing is my passion and my joy,” she says. “I can’t imagine doing anything else.”
