One Piece Episode 63: A Man’s Promise! Luffy and the Whale Vow to Meet Again

One Piece is a popular anime series based on the manga of the same name by Eiichiro Oda. It follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy, a young pirate who dreams of becoming the king of all pirates by finding the legendary treasure One Piece. Along his journey, he meets and befriends various crew members who share his passion and ideals.
In episode 63, Luffy and his crew encounter a giant whale named Laboon at the entrance of the Grand Line, a dangerous sea where the most powerful pirates and marines clash. They learn from Crocus, Laboon’s caretaker, that the whale has been waiting for a group of pirates who promised to return after sailing around the world 50 years ago. However, they never came back, and Laboon has been ramming his head against the Red Line, a massive wall that surrounds the world, in frustration and despair.
Luffy decides to cheer up Laboon by challenging him to a fight. He manages to draw blood from Laboon’s scarred forehead, but also gets swallowed by him in the process. Inside Laboon’s stomach, Luffy finds several broken ships and a mysterious map. He also meets Mr. 9 and Miss Wednesday, two bounty hunters who were sent by their boss to kill Laboon and use his meat to feed their starving island. Luffy defeats them and escapes from Laboon’s mouth with the help of his crew.
Luffy then makes a bold promise to Laboon: he will come back after he finds One Piece and have a rematch with him. To prove his sincerity, he paints his jolly roger on Laboon’s forehead and tells him to wait patiently. Laboon is moved by Luffy’s gesture and stops hitting the Red Line. Crocus thanks Luffy for giving Laboon hope and reveals that he was once a member of the pirate crew that Laboon is waiting for: the Roger Pirates, led by the late Pirate King Gol D. Roger.

Zoro is the first to realize the trap and fights against dozens of Baroque Works agents, including Mr. 9, Miss Monday, Mr. Beans, Miss Catharine, and Igaram, who reveals himself as Mr. 8. Zoro defeats them all with his sword skills and his new technique: the 36 Pound Cannon. He then confronts Miss Wednesday and Mr. 9 again, who beg him to spare their lives and take them to their boss.
