Turn Photos into Cartoons

One of the fun and creative ways to use Photoshop is to turn your photos into cartoons. You can apply different illustration styles, create caricatures, or add comic effects to your images. Here are the steps to turn a photo into a cartoon:

  1. Open your photo in Photoshop.
  2. Duplicate the background layer and rename it “Cartoon”.
  3. Go to Filter > Filter Gallery and choose Poster Edges from the Artistic folder. Adjust the Edge Thickness, Edge Intensity, and Posterization settings to your liking.
  4. Go to Image > Adjustments > Threshold and drag the slider to create a black-and-white outline of your photo.
  5. Add a new layer and fill it with white. Drag it below the Cartoon layer.
  6. Select the Cartoon layer and change its blending mode to Multiply.
  7. Add a new layer above the Cartoon layer and rename it “Color”. Change its blending mode to Color.
  8. Select the Brush tool and choose a soft round brush. Pick a color from the original photo and paint over the areas you want to colorize. Repeat this process for different colors and areas.
  9. You can also add some details and effects to your cartoon, such as highlights, shadows, textures, or speech bubbles.

And that’s it! You have turned your photo into a cartoon with Photoshop.

Another cool and funny thing you can do with Photoshop is to swap faces in your photos. You can put your face on someone else’s body, or vice versa, or swap faces with your friends, family, or pets. Here are the steps to swap faces in Photoshop:

  1. Open the two photos you want to swap faces in Photoshop.
  2. Select the Lasso tool and draw a rough selection around the face you want to copy. Press Ctrl+C to copy it.
  3. Switch to the other photo and press Ctrl+V to paste the face. Use the Move tool to position it over the original face.
  4. Go to Edit > Free Transform and resize, rotate, and warp the face to match the angle and shape of the original face.
  5. Add a layer mask to the face layer and use a soft black brush to blend the edges with the background.
  6. Go to Image > Adjustments > Match Color and choose the background layer as the source. Adjust the Luminance, Color Intensity, and Fade settings to match the color and tone of the original face.
  7. You can also use other tools and filters to refine your face swap, such as Liquify, Healing Brush, Clone Stamp, or Blur.

And that’s it! You have swapped faces in Photoshop.

Inverting colors is a simple but effective way to create a dramatic or surreal effect in your photos. You can invert colors to turn black-and-white negatives into positive images, or to create a color contrast that draws attention to your subject. Here are the steps to invert colors in Photoshop:

  1. Open your photo in Photoshop.
  2. Duplicate the background layer and rename it “Invert”.
  3. Go to Image > Adjustments > Invert or press Ctrl+I to invert the colors of your photo.
  4. You can also use adjustment layers to fine-tune your inverted image, such as Levels, Curves, Hue/Saturation, or Gradient Map.
  5. If you want to invert only a part of your image, you can use a layer mask and a black brush to reveal the original colors of that area.

And that’s it! You have inverted colors in Photoshop.
