Jake has been hiding in a remote cabin in the woods, trying to cope with the guilt and trauma of his past. He thinks he is safe, until one day he receives a mysterious phone call from a woman claiming to be his long-lost sister. She tells him that Mark has found out where he is and is coming for him. She also reveals a shocking secret that will change everything for Jake.

Will Jake be able to escape his brother’s wrath? Will he be able to trust his sister? And what is the truth about their family’s dark history? Find out in The Prodigal Brother 2, a thrilling sequel that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end.

Jake hesitated for a moment, unsure whether to believe the voice on the other end of the line. He had never heard of a sister before. Could this be a trap set by Mark? Or was she telling the truth?

“Who are you?” he asked, his voice trembling. “How do you know about me and Mark?”

“My name is Sarah,” she said. “I’m your half-sister. Our father had an affair with my mother when he was married to yours. He never told you or Mark about me, but I found out after he died. I’ve been looking for you ever since.”

“Why?” Jake asked. “What do you want from me?”

“I want to help you, Jake,” she said. “I know what Mark has done to you. I know he’s a monster. He’s been hunting me down too, because he thinks I have something that belongs to him.”

“What is it?” Jake asked, curious.

“It’s a letter,” she said. “A letter that our father wrote before he died. A letter that reveals everything.”

“I can’t tell you over the phone,” she said. “It’s too dangerous. Mark could be listening. You have to meet me in person. I’ll explain everything then.”

“Where are you?” Jake asked, feeling a surge of hope and fear.

“I’m in a motel in the next town,” she said. “Room 12. Come as soon as you can. But be careful, Jake. Mark is not far behind. He’s armed and dangerous. He won’t stop until he gets what he wants.”

“OK,” Jake said, grabbing his coat and keys. “I’m on my way.”

He hung up the phone and ran to his car. He hoped this was not a mistake. He hoped Sarah was really his sister and not a liar. He hoped he could trust her.

But most of all, he hoped he could make it in time.

Jake drove as fast as he could, dodging traffic and ignoring red lights. He had to get to Sarah before Mark did. He had to find out the truth about his family. He had to end this nightmare once and for all.

He reached the motel in less than half an hour. He parked his car in front of room 12 and got out. He knocked on the door, hoping to hear Sarah’s voice.

But instead, he heard a gunshot.

Jake kicked the door open and rushed inside. He saw Sarah lying on the floor, blood pooling around her chest. She was still holding the letter in her hand. She looked at him with a weak smile.

“Jake,” she whispered. “I’m sorry. I tried to protect you. I tried to protect this.”

She handed him the letter and closed her eyes.

“Sarah!” Jake cried, dropping to his knees. “Sarah, no! Stay with me! Stay with me!”

But it was too late. She was gone.
